LM Imprisoned in a Cube Myth

You know how in the game King of Dragon Pass, LM (avoiding the spelling pitfalls) gets imprisoned in a cube by Mostali? This is in the Making of the Storm Tribe myth.

What is the mythical background for LM's troubles? Do the Mostali have a special "thing" for him? (did he steal some of their knowledge, bless his soul?) If someone can point me to the right texts, I'm happy to look it up myself.
