It depends on which myth are you following. Maybe you are following a myth where your side wins (even if the opposition follows a myth where his side wins).

That's because we don't know Woody's telling of Flamal against Zorak Zoran. Maybe Aldryami know that Flamal was struck by ZZ, but overcome him in some other, subtle way. Tricky ecological things!
