This might have serious consequences for male Uz impotence. Once they've had a painful birth experience they might not be keen to go through it again. After all, they get very little out of the painful process: no power, no esteem, no real anything.

Makes it tempting for Uz fathers to try to escape the range of the travail magic, if that is possible. Scenario hook here perhaps of a big troll male trying to escape the Mothers Curse, with an expectant mother trying to catch the male before the pains are inflcited on her.
I like this Uz magic and feel relieved that Glorantha is a fantasy world.
