Yep. heroes get access to manuscripts long before publication now (after some complaints that Herodom had no real benefits (other than free product) and also to help the error-checking and proofreading of new material).

Err, when have they in the past? C'mon, there is a reason that the verb "To
Greg" exists.
Actually, Common magic was left out of Hero *Wars*, to Greg's
dissatisfaction.

Common magic is low-level stuff - yeah, you could probably spend the HP to raise it to reasonable levels, but it's cheaper to join a cult/church/tradition and narrow your magic. Common Magic is kind of the "background radiation" magic that Glorantha has - remember, everyone has some magic - maybe not a lot, and maybe not that useful for adventuring (Plow Swift, Nurture Bud and Find Good Fertilizer won't be at the forefront of Harrek's magic choices...), but perhaps useful for the low-level Average Joe's needs.
You *can* use CM and your Cult magic, but you don't get the nice HP price-break that narrowing your magic gives you. RR
