Can't help with the books, but The Garhound Contest scenario in Sun County has been updated for Hero Wars by a team that included MOB, the original author. It is available for free download in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format from the Issaries website at

It has everything from the original and more - maps, characters and expanded background and plot.
