Thanks, my own view would that it would be unusual, but far from impossible.

Very interesting! I'm using Bruce Ferrie's initiation myth. The final stage involves the child alone to face a ritual enemy. The rescue quest involves a mythlet of my own devising - wherein Vinga rescues a child snatched by evil spirits (either chaos or darkness depending on the versions you have heard). The goal of the quest is to rescue a lost child, so technically it might work ... (but who'd be stupid enough to try a hero quest at such short notice ... my players!).

I'm thinking that riding through the ritual, scattering congregation and regali and busting a few heads should be enough.

Same tribe. I'm likely to take it to tribal moot. My guess is that the (naughty) clan chief will outlaw the family to scapegoat them and try and brazen out the rest. (The naughty clan here is the Rakstani whi I always seem to end up feuding with in KoDP. Just my way of revenge).
