Agreed: though it does imply that the locals had the technlogy and stone to build such a thing.

Yes, and it's gorgeous.

But if you want really fairy-tale castles in a mountain-and-river landscape, how about the Rhine? The little castles adn villages up and down it? Like, say Bacharach?
