I agree, we want to avoid to much medievalism for the Sartarites they lose too much character that way; Gaul at the time of Ceaser's conquests, even 'Viking Europe' seem so much more useful when looking for architectural styles. Sure the Norman barons model works well for parts of southern Heortland, with its embracing of Western ways and people, but I would be cautious about allowing it to penetrate too far north (without a deliberate story of 'hey, these guys are building this foriegn tower...')
