I think there's lots of interesting opportunities for play in
Esrolia. It won't help you here and now, but next month there will
be some invaluable extra material for Esrolia - as well as the
homeland spread in HQ, there are other bits and pieces scattered
through the book such as the cult write-up for Imarja. The free PDF

has two excellent Esrolian documents by Simon Bray, which do a great
job of introducing the area's culture.
