I think that when it comes to Harrek, its not a matter of a tradition but more of folks seeking to emulate him. Around here we just asume he has a talent called 'Kill You Dead' at 10w6 and a 'Kill Anything Nearby' at 10w5. Drinking beer and hauling loot around are probably secondary skills =)

And he's got a cult of folks who seeek to emulate him -- his band of ever-replenishing Wolf Pirates (they seem to get killed a lot to illustrate how tough Harrek is). These days he's just a throbbing engine of destruction. Not exactly a man I'd ask about how he got that way.

But think Conan (or Lancelot) He's starting off as a very powerful specimen and keeps wandering from adventure to adventure, destroying kingdoms on a weekly basis. Oh bugger-- Harrek's actually Groo The Wanderer.

He's not intergrated Rathor, per-see but has made him into a nifty magic item (a fetish naturally). Though, by now, he probably could intergrate the big white guy, I suppose.

Perhaps Harrek's one of those horriblly annoying 'naturals' that crop up from time to time.
