But to regurgitate my post on RPG.net:

...oddly enough, while most Gloranthans dislike the cover, I made a surprising discovery. When I brought to work, all the non-Gloranthan gamers throught the cover was 'pretty cool' and several of the nongamers  wanted to know what it was because 'it looked neat'

So, maybe its getting to the right audience afterall. I was somewhat pleasantly shocked when I realized that.

(actually, its the old HW cover a few seconds later... and since the artwork was already paid for, I suspect they went with using it. Good cover art can be very, very expensive. Something by Larry Dixon, for example, can be up to $5K)
