I'd like to know what *you* would have taken out to make the film down
to the 3 AND A HALF hours it was released at.
I don't mean to start a debate and that's no more than a rhetorical
question.
Simply let me help out with this: the theatrical releases are for
everyone. 'Tolkien purists' have to wait for the, in RotK's case, over 4
hour long version; in that you will be able to synchronise your bladder
too.
We watched the two extended versions before the 'main feature' and it
was quite a marathon.
I found that RotK flicked by in what seemed to be only ~2 hours; I'd
like to go on record saying that I think it's the best fantasy film ever
made. I think we are fortunate that someone like Peter and Fran got
control of this project.
And that was the minimum rant.
