But crew involved in fleeing on oars or in the rigging would not be able to aid in any ritual. Again this is about giving the players interesting tactical choices 'if we put all hands to the oars sir we should overhaul them within the hour, perhaps before their magic can speed their hull through the water and away from us, but there will be no time for the crew to focus their magical energy on the Great Ram ritual without which we may never crack their tortoise shell plated hull'.
