You might also want to check out the comic _The Invisibles_ (now mostly available in TPB) -- there is a lot of stuff there about intersecting realities, altered points of view, time collapsing, and so on. There's also some nice ritual magic stuff, a heoquest that leads the characters to de Sade's Castle of Silling (there's a crossing to the Other Side failure for you), and some clever interactions with gods (when you're becoming a shaman, what do you offer the Lord of the Dead to let you go?). It's not for everyone, but it's worth a look.
