Asrelia's Storage Pits perhaps. Seriously I added them to Dragon Pass derived from the real-world grain storage pits found at Iron Age settlements. Some hill forts had hundreds of them - possibly more than enough for a long siege.

But IMO John is right The Siege of Whitewall has a lot of dramatic potential for telling stories. Think of the precedents in history and literature: Alesia, Masada, The Alamo and Helm's Deep to name but a few.
