Just like Orlanth and Ernalda in the myths then! Get into the Heaortling mindset - this is normal stuff for them.

I'm not exactly sure about divine madness. I sense your thinking more 'Last Temptation of Christ' type divine madness. However, if you consult Thunder Rebels then it is a calling that you have when you follow a religion. All the more acute for those who become Devotees. When we play characters (I'm a narrator) its easy to forget if these guys were real the amount of time they devote to the worship of their gods. In fact, to be a devotee you need to be supported as you don't actually have enough time to support yourself! (Occupation not withstanding of course!)
