Relevant to Glorantha? Nope. Relevant to HeroQuest the rules system? Sure.

The first Spider-Man movie was what made me realize HQ would be perfect for superhero RPGs. Why?

Relationships.

The first Spider-Man movie (I haven't seen the second yet) is *all* about relationships. Peter's relationship with Uncle Ben. Peter's relationship with Aunt May. Peter's relationship with Mary Jane. Harry's relationship with Mary Jane. Harry's relationship with Norman. Norman's relationship with Harry. Mary Jane's relationship with her abusive dad.

In the final scene, the Green Goblin is completely kicking Spidey's ass. How does Spider-Man finally get back up? The Goblin makes threatening comments about Mary Jane. Spider-Man's player says to the GM, "That does it. I'm using In Love With Mary Jane for an augment." The GM smiles and nods. The player adds, "The Goblin put Aunt May in the hospital. If he's threatening Mary Jane, he's threatening all of my loved ones--can I use Protective of Aunt May for an augment, too?" The GM thinks about it & agrees. Spider-Man's heavily boosted now & comes back to defeat the Goblin.

Man, I can't wait to see the second movie.
