Kolat

So, after reading all the "official" material (published and on the Web) on Kolat, I got to wondering if he's really a Tradition at all.

I mean, he's marginally acceptable to the Heortlings, who've got a powerful theistic pantheon. It combines all sorts of "good parts" from the other Mythic Planes (e.g., Torvald the Alchemist, Odayla's Beast Charms); this fits in fine with Orlanth's powerful force for Change. He doesn't insist, after all, on Tradition for the sake of Tradition. It's just that his way works, and it works by taking everyone's strength and using it to it's most effective.

So I was wondering if Kolat's cult was more akin to Ganval's, a Shamanic Practice that sits alone. In Kolat's case, he didn't sever his ties to his kin, and so has a place in the Storm Tribe. Or, I could see him providing a sort of Common Religion to some clans or tribes. I don't know if I can buy the whole Tradition, though; his followers are rare, even rarer than most of the specialists in _Storm_Tribe_, it seems.
