Yeeees - but there will be factions. Tarsghites will feel a range of emotions about this issue, and this will sort them into factions, actively or passively. Some will feel that the king is legitimite (as the representative of the empire; as a conqueror; as an inheritor) and others that they are illegitimite (refuse to recognise descent, refuse to acknowledge conquest, refuse to recognise authority of empire). How this manifests in a political action will largekly dpeend on the proportion of populatiopn which holdsd each opinion. Any given person may be a member of any faction, consciously or not. But if you had an idea of which was the dominant idea, and which the less-recognised, you would have a good overview of how Tarsh sees its kings.
