Here's what I meant by "not getting lost."

If you have three fixed points, then you can triangulate. Sure, no one has a good map, but the locals can figure it from experience.

Seems like the whole search for a way to determine longitude that occurred on Earth would be replaced in Glorantha with some sort of fancy sextant that would map the gate of dawn's angle relative to the moon and the pole star--three fixed points.

This measurement would also be very valuable to anyone trying to make a good map.
