At Greg's request, I'm writing a Short Fan Policy Summary that should help explain how the policy works. Although I did not write the policy, I am a practicing lawyer that has litigated IP issues for some very large corporations (Goldman Sachs, KKR, etc). If we are to ensure that we fans can continue to contribute to Glorantha, then in my professional opinion a formal and explicit Fan Materials Policy is absolutely necessary.
Please be patient and don't panic - the Red Moon is not falling from the sky. Again, I am a lawyer (and a fan), and it is quite clear to me that this Fan Policy has been written to accomdate our fan activities. However, this needs to be done if we want to protect Glorantha from potentially ruinous litigation.
