And, to be fair, the online policy doesn't in fact seem to be as bad as the above quote would make out. Maybe they've changed it since the comment was made?

They're against taking (copyrighted) fictional characters from other settings and publishing Palladium stats for them, because that's breach of someone else's copyright. Quite why they're against having their setting translated into other rules isn't as clearly stated.

But they do let people use quotes from their stuff, and produce "derivative works", as long as they aren't trying to make money from them. If you want to make money, you talk to them about deals and licensing.

Comparison with the Issaries FPP shows a difference in emphasis, and in the way things are explained, but a lot of the overlap seems to be similar, and reasonable. As long as they're as friendly and helpful as Issaries when you *do* want to talk to them, that is....
