Life in Esvular 1621 S.T.

Hello,

I am starting my HeroQuest game in Esvular soon. Some of the player-characters will be from far-off lands, a pretty mixed group like the one in the HQ rulebook, but most of my NPCs will be strictly local Esvulari.

Here's what I'd like to know:
Since we will be playing in my version of 1621/22 S.T., this is technically after the Lunar conquest of Heortland. Since Esvular is a kingdom in the southernmost portion of Heortland, I assume it, too, was conquered in 1620.

So, in short: How much does the Lunar military presence affect day-to-day life in an Esvulari town, especially Durengard or Duchamp?
How many Lunar soldiers are walking around there? Are the Imperial soldiers taking over policing duties from the local town guards? Can they make random arrests, harrass the townspeople, and so on? Have missionaries begun to influence the population? If so, which cults from the Empire are being promoted? Are the Lunars trying to actively strengthen the position of the Aeolian Church, as a bulwark against the traditionalist Orlanth-worshipping Hendreiki in the countryside?
In general, how obvious is the Lunar Imperial "win" over the kingdom?

Related questions are, for example:

How many villages near Durengard are Aeolian, how many are "real" Orlanthi who never joined the church? Is there a ratio you would recommend?
I assume Bandal Tigerbane is not about to be deposed (and I don't want him to be), so is he a sympathizer of the Lunars? Is there a governor he answers to?
