Absolutely! In fact, one of my players was trying to get a handle on how to play an Orlanthi - he was having trouble understanding how his character should be interacting with others. He'd read the rules, read Thunder Rebels and such, but still was having trouble "getting it". I lent him Egil's Saga - and that, better than anything, got him into the right mindset.
