Not related to II dificulties but...

IMO we may all have to get used to a different model of releases over time, due to changes in the RPG market. Take a look at a lot of the other publisher-owned companies out there like Ron Edwards Adept Press or some of the others at the Forge or Indie Press Revolution. A lot of these companies are alive but don't churn out releases in the old supplement every month treadmill. Is Sorceror a lesser game because it has fewer releases? Does Dogs in the Vineyard need an endless array of supplements? Would Burning Wheel die if Luke Crane failed to release for a year? I don't think so. YMMV.

In addition some of these companies are moving to new ways of publishing like the print on demand model - for example Clinton Nixon's Anvil Works makes The Shadows of Yesterday available through print on demand via Lulu.

The industry and those of us who value the publisher-owned indie game, may have to get used to new patterns, but the benefits to all of us in the continuance of original games should make it worth it.

Caling a company dead for not releasing for a year is old school thinking.
