Here is the official word, as quoted right out of the current version of the Humakt cult write up, as authored by Roderick Robertson and Greg Stafford

Married or Not?
Two dominant philosophies exist within Heortling society. They are both theories and neither of them has been proven to be more right than th others. No Humakti has ever escaped these questions, and so everyone must eventually decide.
The Bare Blades philosophy says that no marriage, relationships or sex is allowed to worshippers because Humakt is Death, his power is Death and his initiates are incarnations of Death. Children are the equivalent of undead (but no Humakti has truly been able to use their powers to destroy undead on such children, hence the "equivalent of.") Practitioners get a special blessing of their god for this practice, but it has no game effect. The Hoods philosophy says that it is acceptable to participate in carnal relations and other pleasures of life. After all, Humakt is Death, his power is Death and his initiates gain a special sensitivity to enjoy Life as a result. Practitioners get a special blessing of their god for this practice, but it has no game effect.
