This sounds pretty reasonable to me. Consider the speed of adoption
of Islam during its initial spread, and add in the apparently quite
wretched state of most of the survivors in Ralios. It seems to me
that it is no great leap that when people arrived who were well fed,
clothed, and equipped, and offered to share their secrets--and maybe
more critically who offered *hope* --that many people would be quick
to embrace this new way, even if it was not like their old way.
Maybe not everyone would, but probably within a generation the hold
outs would have become very marginilized--maybe becoming local
bandit cults or the like?
Where people were actually doing fairly well and had no Orlanth
connection then it would seem more odd to me if adoption was quick.
But it sounds like this was not the case in Ralios.
