Oh my, many excellent ideas in there. Thank you all for your nasty tricks! I won't comment each one individually, but be assured you gave me whole bandolier of traps and events. Lots of way to challenge the players/characters on the strong and weak points: poison, equilibrium, fear magic, monsters. All good!

I particularly dig the giant icosahedron :) As for the frescoes on the walls, that merge quite nicely with my ideas, as they will investigate the temple mainly because it's a Belintar temple 4000 km away from the Holy Country. I think it's a temple from _before_ Belintar became the Pharaoh. Some first experiment of his to become more than human.

My concern is now not to spend too much time _in game_ on this. Maybe half an hour top for the jungle, and another 15-30' for the temple. How do you prepare this, rulewise? I gave the jungle some ratings already (Hard to cross 18w, hot and misty 12w). But at 18w, that gives only 38 AP for the jungle, which doesn't feel right. I think I'll give it something like 100-200 AP, representing its vastly different scale, compared to a bunch of heroes.
Mike or Roderick will probably say the rules say that anyway :) Considering the jungle/temple as a horde...

Do you tend to give ratings beforehand, or just note some possible attack/parry and go with it?

I guess I'll list your ideas, decide on a beginning AP total and let it ride that way. I'll determine ratings and AP bets on the fly.
