In which case it will most likely provide a modestly-scaled augment. This is a solution that I like and that I've used before. I like the way that it models "magic" weapons. Philosophically, you can either interpret the weapon as being truly magical in that it imparts an ability in and of itself, or you can interpret it as the moraleboosting bonus it inspires in the wielder who cherishes it for its personal and cultural value.
