Well, they certainly made an impression on me during my formative years! Unfortunately, when it came time to write BoG, I couldn't figure out which one to follow. In the end, I just couldn't decide. I really would have liked to go all out Griffin Mountain style but then House Caroman and Fay Jee happened. So I went with a Griffin Mountain with strong elements of Borderlands (with enough bits nicked from Big Rubble/Pavis to keep the dungoneers and city slickers happy).
