There's isn't going to be an objective "best" way to do augments. I haven't seen the new rules so cannot comment on how well it presents a toolkit approach.

I still like my house ruled approach, but then again, I would wouldn't I. (house rule - do rolled augments *after* the roll on the main ability, no limit but only the best positive result applies, while all the negative results apply to the augmenting ability, or in some other fun way)

I didn't think HQ2 is a useful subject line, added the augment bit.
