And I agree it sounds sensible, but it doesn't explain why Fyrd Combat has been errata-ed out of Close Combat, but Shieldwall Fighting hasn't. If one is a form of tactics, so is the other. Neither define the weapons nor armour used, after all. Can you augment one form of Close Combat with another (Spear & Shield augmented with Shieldwall Fighting, for instance)?
