There are many things that make the core conflict system Narrativist focused, but the key one is being able to bring player will to bear in conflicts by use of HP. Fortune in the Middle is a powerful but light touch meta-game mechanic that supports the narrativist agenda perfectly.

It is worth noting that Ron was very familiar with the game. He ran HW for a number of sessions, wrote up the outcomes and penned a narrativist scenario Final Days at Skullpoint in SR3.
