Its not quite that easy, I think? It always was a theistic place. It
was where the Storm Tribe and Vingkotlings built their kingdoms,
afterall. They drove out the original draconic inhabitants -- see
Thunder Rebels for the various 'Orlanth slaughters a haples dragon'
myths (hence the strong dragon affinity the area has as well)
I don't see it having a huge animist component to it, really. Though
the creatures that remained behind after the dragonkill were very much
animist.
