Clan-preferred subcults

In thinking about what people have posted here, I wondered about the possibility of subcult substitution. For example: Destor Adventurous is popular among the Orlevings (chosen at random). In one generation, a great hero arises among them, Derik the Nomad-slayer (no relation). He becomes a great hero of his people, leading the tribe to some overwhelming victory; after his death, his descendants petition him for his blessing in raids against the Praxians. A hero-cult comes into being, Derik Adventurous, and displaces Destor. Is this something that can happen, leading to regional variation in subcults?

A better example might have been if Orlev the Sly, "who was the son of Arrow-Odd, who was the son of Orlbad Gyffursson, who was the son of Gyffur the Fat, seventh son of Vingkot", might have a subcult, only worshipped in his clan, which displaces Dar the Leader (but not Dar the King).

I'm not trying to rock the boat; I'm trying to get a handle on the type of "regional variety" to be found among Orlanth-worshippers.
