I noticed in my skimming of TR that the girls are initiated annually, and the boys every 5th year. This got me thinking about the "average clan size" and so on. Of the 1200 folks, 600 are kids, which I assume to be 300 each of boys and girls. For the girls 6% (1/15th rounded down) get initiated each time, which is 18 or so. For the boys, it is 25% (5/19ths rounded down), which is 75 or so. That seems kinda big to me. Since they are not yet initiated into any specific god (that happens 2 years later), there is no easy division by aspect (Allfather wannabes come here, Thunderous wannabes go over to Snorri Thunderbreath, ....) Is there one huge ceremony for the whole clan? Are things split out by stead and/or bloodline?
Any thoughts?
