I was thinking of circumstances when someone kills either a child or a parent who belongs to another clan: this is both kinstrife and a circumstance where weregild might be applicable as an afterthought.
You are however correct in that any murder within a clan is kinstrife (within a *CLAN*, not just within a bloodline) and not subject to weregild payments. TR 43 spells it out.
