Plus it gives all those young hotbloods a good reason to practice their Movement magics. There's an amusing story in Greg Cajete's "Look to the Mountain" (a book on Native American educational theory) where a young man/boy is told by his Grandfather that, if he wants to be swift and agile, he should rub the wings of a butterfly over his heart. So the kid catches a butterfly. Then he decides that if one was good, lots must be better, and he tells his friends, and pretty soon all the young men are running around like crazy, catching butterflies. And they all get pretty quick and agile.

Now, back on the Tula: "Well, son, if you want to dally with Ragnar Two-Spears's daughter, you'd better find a way to get over the ridge. Ask your uncle to show you the Ardent Leap.
