Re: Initiation into unsupported cults

Misapplied worship only applies when you are performing the wrong TYPE of worship. Venerating Orlanth or getting all estatic about Malkion and Hrestol (which probably embarasses him no end) are misapplied.

Also, remember that NO clan can possibly support all the various cults and worship that are available. Most clans have their 2 main gods and a handful of shrines. However, inside the hero's tribe will be upwards of a half dozen OTHER clans -- and if your clan has the tribal yinkini shirne, then all the Odaylans will show up for worship at your clan. And if the Cyrlings over the next hill have a shrine to Hedkokoranth, then its perfectly natural that you go over the hill and tell the old goddi there about how the Hurler is calling you.

More obscure(?) gods will have shrines in even larger concentrations -- the cities that are the heart of the tribal confederations. While these are much less viceral entities, I'd be thinking that the cities make good places to get enough worship for obscure or tough-to-qualify-and-support cults such as Chalana Arroy.

Hope this helps!
