Day 9
The people of Osthens were less keen in the Bull Shah. Their militia successfully repelled a simple assault. Ningizztavar ordered siege engines to be built. The vizirs threw their curses on the defenders. Doom ridden winds and the siege engines, and the army of the Bull Shah crushed the Osthens militia, they were annihilated. Not a single defender remained. Such was the power of the Bull.

Day 10
The siege of Kitor began: the Moon Shah had his small band of Heroes, and his Char Un slave warriros to defend the walls of Kitor. The Bull Shah commanded his Bull Guard, his Rotal Cataphracts, the Lord General's Bashkars.

Shah Ningizztavar begins with magical assaults, a few attacks to test the defences, then prepares for a siege. The belief is that with enough time and magic the defenders could be ground to dust. No Imperial Army seemed forthcoming to save Vakthan, although news came of a Sweet Sea offensive into Worion.
[this was also played out using a simple contest for the whole days battling]
Jhor and Spol militias swelled the ranks of the Bull, despite being ravaged by the Bandit clan mercenaries. [this write up does not include the details of some of the politics and bribery going on] Ningizztavar led an assault himself to the very walls, Char Un had counter attacked to clear some siege work and had left the gates open. Ningiz took his chance and assaulted the gates. Only the Lunar Heroes were able to repulse the assault. Gogadius the Migthy lifted and threw the Heavy Charger of Hazar Simatapis Var clear over the heads of the Royal Cataphracts, whilst the Silver Scimitar decapitated seven men with only two strokes if his blade. Such Heroism saved the, but only just, and only for that day.

That night disaster struck - hags of darkness rose from the very soil to rend and destroy the Shah Ningizztavar. Magicians fought these hell hags, but they were overpowered, his Death Guard fought grimly but to no avail. The Shah would have been dragged away to a dark hell had not Death intervended.
[unexpected divine intervention here]

Lord General Bisoshor declared himself Shah, as was his right, as everyone would have expected. He sent emissaries to the Empire, declared peace with the Satrap of Naveria, and called on his Ice Demon allies to crush the upstart Moon Shah. [ie, no more pussy footing around - immediate action from the new Shah]. Terror fell upon Kitor, for none could withstand Winter's Fury. The demons flew on the wind, crawled through every crack and cranny. The warriors fought back but for every icicle they chopped to pieces another would form, They were doomed and the human forces of Bisoshor fell back to simply watch the death of a city. At last the last drop of warm blood became as solid and the demons growled and screamed victory. Every single inhabitant of Kitor had been frozen. The army of Worian entered a frozen white crystal tomb. Dressed in thick furs the worst of them plundered the city for its wealth.

But.....
Ningizztavar has not died. Humakt had saved him from a false death and sent him to Castle Blue. He had been chosen as Hierophant. Hazar Corran, Hazar Tarim went to meet him at the Castle, which had reappeared for the occasion. He declared the new Monarch and returned to the Castle, as Karmanos had done. Capriccia, wife of Ningizztavar declared herself regent, according to Ningizztavars wishes, and made herself safe in Kendesor, where lawyers guarded her interests.
[this bit was both made up on the fly, was specifically related to certain
PCs (the cousins of Capriccia, and led onto the next adven...episode.]

That was it for the battle scenes, done as a playtest for HW resolution. (the players wanted to carry on with their RQ characters)

I missed out a lot of the politics (alliances, mercenaries, New Moon Empire internal difficulties) which were also to some extent HWified.

Hope you enjoyed it.
