I'm co-narrator of a mixed e-mail/face-to-face campaign that is actually working quite well.  

We've got the following characters at the moment :  

E-mail  

Yinkin hunter
Odaylan hunter
Finovan the Raider cattle rustler (recently converted from Odaylan hunter) Humakt/Lhankor Mhy enforcer
Vingan warrior
Kolati shaman (hasn't done too much)  

Face-to-face  

ex-Elmali Humakti warrior recently returned to the clan from a failed heroquest to the underworld
Issaries trader
Elmali warrior (an ex-slave of the Hendriki who wants to introduce mounted combat to the Heortling)
