I wasn't that impressed with MK as a set of wargame rules for serious gaming (though fo r a quick beer & pretzels I suppose it could do), and the idea of picking up the minis every turn to figure out what they could do *can* be a cheater's dream - just put the figure down a *little* bit closer to where you want it to be each turn.

The final damning point against it is that it is a "collectable" game - if I want to buy an army, I want to know what I'm getting before I plunk my money down, not after I get home and find out that I've just picked up my 5th copy of the same crap figure.

As far as the conversion of MK to HW (just to bring this back on topic and not be see as simply a slam against MK), There isn't really a mechanism in HW that is simulated by MK's "move the dial on a hit" mechanic. HW doesn't change your basic abilities as a response to "damage", so that part of MK (which is the basic "gimmick" of the game, after all) isn't necessary. What you have left is a bunch of soft plastic figures and a simple ruleset...
