That's a good approach -- our group really embraced 'life on the farm' for a while. Moots, cattle raids, weddings, cattle raids, clan feuds, taxes, being raided, the occasional broo (chaos is much less prevalent than it was..!), and all those things that do set HW's style apart from RQ. Then, as the heroes get more important, bring in the aspects of the Rebellion. After a while, the heroes begin to make choices between their comfortable clan and the needs of the rebellion. EVentually, they _will_ have to choose.

NB? Sorry, I'm not tracking that.

That's Bryan Thexton's wonderful idea (inspired by KODP) fleshed out by your's truly. I'd recommend Cattle Raid of Orm's Valley as a good adventure too.

Me too. We're way past due.

It happens. I used the Greydog stuff very heavily as the baseline for my Cyrlings (mostly how were they different from these rather odd but typical heortlings). However, TR and ST should provide enough information on how to set up your own clan and its own private wierdnesses.

I think that the Clan Generator is very useful here!

Or the Goodswords. Certainly the Lismelder are up to their ears in undead though I think the Malani would say the same of themselves. More central tribes have less blatant enemies and more time for tribal politics -- though they do get raided by ALL the outsiders but just more rarely. You'renot going to see Praxians raiding the Lismelder that often.

Ewww. (Though I will confess I am running Return of the Temple of Elemental Evil on the QT)

Good luck with it!
