Your understanding is incorrect regarding the historical West, including Loskalm (i.e. before and during the time of the God Learners). At the Dawn, a large proportion of the West worshipped False Gods. During the Dawn Age, the Serpent Kings ruled Seshnela and pagan worship was a significant part of their rule.

There are Orlanthi very near the borders of Loskalm as well as numerous Hsunchen in Gharkor.

That's correct. But there were still sorcerers there when the Carmanians arrived - cf Glorantha: Intro p114).
