I've played with the idea of a tension among Dragon Pass's Sun Dome Templars between the "Loyal Thane" Elmali types, who think the Templars should be recognised as defenders of the Kingdom of Sartar in the absence of its Royal House (just as Elmal ruled in Orlanth's stead), and the "Cold Sun" Yelmalion types, who sympathise with solar Dara Happans (i.e. the Lunars) and their civilised ways (cf. KoS for the civil strife background to this).
