Maybe it's the way Northerners *choose* to go to plummy, southern, oxbridge reject institutions and then complain about it that I admire them so much.

Maybe it's because they go to a chip shop in Lahhhndun and demand the natives understand a foreign language.

Even the way a southern machine operator, a northern farmer's son and a northern human resources manager can be having a drink and it's *still* the southerners fault that Thatcher came to power.

Maybe it's the Northern working class pride that allows them to step on the heads of everyone around them, clawing their way to the head of the corporate greed trough and still justify their purity and innocence on the grounds of the industrial misery inflicted on their grandparents.

Maybe it's the Manchester bakers that I met who get a 100 quid a shift and still complain that it's grim up north.

Northern pride comes down to "Never do owt for nought lest thy do it for thiself"
