The trickster Hogan used his knowledge of secret tunnel networks in the area as well as his "confuse enemy colonel" and "use enemy sergent"  tricks against the Dara Happan.
Colonel Klinkus (who has never let anyone escape a besieged city in his entire city) orderd his faithful Schultzie sergent to lead the retreat of a regiment of disguised Orlanthi.

All this while Hogan was having an affair with the Dara Happan's wives!
