No-one said analogies had to be 10-second or less "It's like this!" quips, Jane (apart from yourself in the last two e-mails, IIRC).

The only key to an analogy is context. If you give your Roman one in a visual and emotive context, no problems, I'm sure it'll work; if someone else attempts a more in-depth analogue, that's also fine. Neither are precluded from being an attempted analogy.
