I feel obliged to delurk and point out that the Dutch are prepared to put cumin in their gouda. They also put lemon in their (or the Belgians') witbier. Frequently. Syrup on bacon pancakes works, but thatīs more potluck than anything else.    

  Lest you think they are some kin of culinary saints...
