Vietnam to have more Americans die from enemy action than from friendly fire. (Geneda, Panama, Somalia, Gulf I, Afghanistan . . . .)  That just shows how deadly we are. We even Greg ourselves.

Chris is right. The qualitative difference between the US military and its foes is so great right now that the inevitable errors in communication are more dangerous to our troops than are the enemy. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to have much impact on the willingness of various armed bands in Iraq to kill groups of civilians in Iraq. It is like a giant surrounded by a cloud of gnats. The gnats can't really do anything to the giant, but the giant slowly gets bored and annoyed swatting at all the damn gnats.
